Since learning to fly nearly 20 years ago, Christine “CC” Gerner has logged over 13,000 hours of flight time in a variety of aircraft ranging from antique biplanes to state of the art Transport Category Airliners.
Although her substantial aviation experience extends from General Aviation to Corporate, Commuter and Major Airlines, it was her early years as an athlete that were instrumental in developing the focus and drive for which she is now known.
As a world class freestyle skier, CC skied competitively throughout Europe and the United States establishing herself as a highly motivated and enthusiastic participant. That, along with her training in gymnastics and diving, made it only natural that, when introduced to aviation, she would gravitate to the high energy, adrenalin packed world of Unlimited Aerobatics.
CC began her Aerobatic training in a Super Decathlon at Mike Goulian’s School in Bedford, Massachusetts and in short order graduated to the unlimited class Extra 300L whereupon she continued her training in St. Augustine, Florida.
The skills derived from her early years as an athlete were ideally suited to Christine’s new found ambition and it surprised no one when she progressed rapidly, earning her low altitude aerobatic waiver just six months into her training and now flying at the hair-raising Advanced and Unlimited levels.
CC’s infectious enthusiasm for the sport and energetic approach to flying provide nothing short of a guarantee of future successes in the aerobatic field.
CC is currently sponsored by Hamilton International LTD. When not flying airshows, CC flies a Boeing 747-400 aircraft for Delta Airlines. and lives in Lakeville, Minnesota. |
